Privacy policy.

This policy explains how DRINK2 handles personal information when you use our mobile app, website, and event services.

Information we collect

We collect information you provide, including your name, email address, profile handle, profile photo, event details, guest lists, drink requests, photos, and messages or notes you add. Guests may join with only a name through an anonymous account.

We also receive technical information needed to operate the service, such as authentication identifiers, device and notification tokens, app version, basic diagnostics, and security logs. Google supplies account details when you choose Google sign-in.

How we use information

We use personal information to create and secure accounts, run events, deliver invitations, route drink requests, display shared event content, send service notifications, prevent abuse, troubleshoot problems, and improve DRINK2.

Who can see it

Event hosts, bartenders, and guests can see information relevant to the event and their assigned role. Content shared to an event gallery is visible to people with access to that event. Profile visibility and friend-request settings control broader in-app discovery where available.

Service providers

We use trusted providers to operate DRINK2, including Supabase for authentication, databases, file storage, and realtime features; Google for optional sign-in; and Expo for app delivery and notifications. These providers process information under their own security and privacy obligations. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect people, the service, or our legal rights.

Retention and security

We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect DRINK2. Event content remains available until it is deleted, the account is deleted, or retention is no longer necessary. We use access controls, encrypted transport, and database-level permissions, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and rights

You can update profile information and privacy settings in the app. You may ask to access, correct, export, or delete personal information. Anonymous guest accounts cannot be recovered after logout. New Zealand users also have rights under the Privacy Act 2020, including the right to complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.

Children and alcohol-related events

DRINK2 is not directed to children. The service does not sell or supply alcohol. Hosts and users are responsible for complying with local age, licensing, and responsible-service laws.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the product or law changes. Material updates will be posted here with a new effective date. Privacy requests can be sent to privacy@drink2.co.
